Rooney is claimed to have been left ‘disorientated’ when mixing sleeping tablets with alcohol on a flight back from Saudi Arabia, and he was ordered to pay a $25 fine after being booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Centre on December 16.And now, according to The Sun, the FA may act by cancelling a planned gala dinner in Rooney’s honour that is due to be held at Wembley Stadium later this year. The governing body’s chiefs will hold talks with Rooney’s PR team before making any decision, though they are considering axing the event due to the embarrassing incident. Rooney has called the United States home since last summer, when he completed a move to MLS side D.C. United from boyhood club Everton. He helped guide United into the MLS playoffs with a Golden Boot winning 12 goals, and was voted the club’s MVP at the conclusion of the season.
